Pop-in visits Only available to regular clients. If you require an additional visit during the day, to meet your dogs daily needs, I will pop-in for 20 minutes and as well as cuddles, provide your dog with a toilet break, feed them if required, refill their water and administer medication.

Home Visits I can help look after your other small pets too. If you are away overnight or for an extended period during the day, you can arrange home visits which would include cleaning, feeding, refilling water, administering medication and cuddles, if wanted. I will visit twice a day, in the morning and evening. During each visit I am happy to water plants and open and close blinds or curtains and take in any parcels or mail - ensuring your home appears lived in whilst you are away.

Home Pet Sitting

Do I need a pop-in for my dog or home visit for my cat and small pets?

Many professional organisations including the Kennel Club, RSPCA and Dogs Trust suggest dogs should ideally not be alone for more than 4 hours. This time can vary significantly depending on the individual dog and the age of the dog, with puppies and young dogs requiring much shorter periods.

It is suggested by the Cats Protection, that cats can be left between 12 and 24 hours, as long as this is not a regular occurrence. Although cats are generally very independent, they still need someone to check on their welfare, offer affection and ensure they have adequate food and water.

How long you can leave other small pets alone is dependent on the species and ensuring they have a suitable space, adequate feed and water. Generally small pets do not require visits if you are out at work or staying away for one night. The advice though is varied, so it is up to you as a pet owner to decide what you feel is acceptable, alongside the guidance offered by professional organisations. It may even be worth a chat with your vet. However, please consider if your pet is sociable and used to having people around or whether for your peace of mind, knowing that someone is there to look out for medical emergencies or other unforeseen mishaps and needs, means home visits is the best option.
